Hyundai i10 1.1 Era (Old Model)
About
The Hyundai i10 1.1 Era is a compact hatchback that was well-regarded for its city driving capabilities. It features a 1086 cc, 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 65 HP at 5500 rpm and 101 Nm of torque at 2800 rpm. The car is available with a manual transmission and has a ground clearance of 165 mm, making it suitable for Indian road conditions. The interior is praised for its comfort and features, including a powerful air conditioner, central locking, and keyless entry. The car also boasts good maneuverability and stability, even at higher speeds. With a fuel tank capacity of 35 litres and a seating capacity for five, it is a practical choice for small families or city dwellers. However, the absence of modern safety features and the bouncy ride at highway speeds are notable drawbacks to consider.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Hyundai i10 1.1 Era, although discontinued, still holds a special place in the hearts of many Indian car enthusiasts. This hatchback was renowned for its city-friendly demeanor, with a light steering and clutch combo that made navigating urban traffic a breeze. The 1.1-litre petrol engine, while not the most powerful, was refined, silent, and adequately powerful for daily city driving. However, the lack of safety features such as airbags and ABS is a significant drawback. The ride can be bouncy at highway speeds, which may not be comfortable for rear seat occupants. Despite these limitations, the i10 remains a well-built and peppy hatchback that feels right at home in city driving conditions. If youre considering this model, its crucial to weigh these pros and cons, especially given that there are now more modern and better-equipped alternatives available in the market.
Price
The Hyundai i10 1.1 Era was priced competitively during its time in the Indian market. The ex-showroom price for this variant was around INR 4.17 lakh. However, when you factor in the on-road costs, including taxes, registration, and other charges, the price would typically rise to around INR 4.45 lakh to INR 4.7 lakh, depending on the state and local taxes. This pricing made it an attractive option for those looking for a budget-friendly, feature-rich hatchback. However, its important to note that these prices are historical, and if youre looking to purchase a used model, the prices will vary based on the cars condition, mileage, and other factors.

The Hyundai i10 1.1 Era was known for its refined and silent 1.1-liter petrol engine, which provided adequate power for city driving. This engine was praised for its performance and fuel efficiency, making it a favorite among urban drivers. I think the engines reliability was a key factor in the i10s popularity.

In 2010, Hyundai introduced a facelifted version of the i10 in India, featuring the Kappa II engine with Variable Valve Timing (VTVT). This update improved the cars performance and efficiency, making it one of the most feature-loaded hatchbacks in its segment at that time. I believe this facelift was crucial in keeping the i10 competitive.
Mileage
Friday, 22 November 2024 01:11 PM
The mileage of the Hyundai i10 1.1 Era is a significant consideration for potential buyers. According to the specifications, this model offers a mileage of 19.81 kmpl for the manual petrol variant. In real-world conditions, users have reported mileage ranging from 13 to 16 kmpl, depending on driving conditions and the use of air conditioning. Luxury feel in this budget and value for money. Nice family car for city riders. Petrol engine with 1200cc is a powerful combination.
Best Features: Interiors & Pick up
Pros: Pick up, Interiors, AC Cooling & Durability.
Cons: Defoggers missing
I am using it for more than 10 years. It's very handy especially in city traffic and narrow roads. Gear lever positioned near to steering making gear shift easy. Even though maintenance free, I have to change silencers after 4-5 years, stabiliser bar broken after 5000 kms. It's a good car if you are not much worried about mileage. On highways 15-16 kmpl, city traffic 10-12 kmpl
Best Features: Stronger Body, Nice Interiors
Pros: Drivability, good looking, better interiors, comfort, better accessibility to gear lever
Cons: Poor milage, lower pick up
Good car for city ride. Front seats are much more comfortable compared to the rear but all provided futures are not good enough for this cost.
Best Features: All average
Pros: Compact size for city traffic
Cons: ABS is not there

Hyundai i10 1.1 Era (Old Model) Discussion
i love this car .driven about 4000km returns 15 - 16 km.hats off to the Hyundai engineers.
I love this car. i have bought this in December 08 and drove 3000 Kms in three months. It is just awesome. I have taken it to a max speed of 145 and the way it sticks to the road, i just love the feel of it. In low end cars i would suggest you it is best buy. Milage it is giving me is around 13 - 14 which is acceptable for me. i would rate it as best car in the price range of less than 4 lakhs :)
