I saw an RX once that was chromed from head to toe, not exactly a mod. It must've cost a fortune and probably blinds people on sunny days.

An RX with a turbocharger has a YouTube video. I have no idea how it runs, or if it even rides, but it exists!

I saw one at a show with the electric motor in place of the engine. It was pretty cool to see the old meets new concept, but purists were losing their minds.

Had they given it a bit more power, I wish. It's great for city riding, but feels a bit underpowered on highways, don't get me wrong. 1-2 bhp more would have made a big difference.

The headlight. The stock headlight is pretty weak at night riding. It would have been perfect if Yamaha had equipped it with a better headlight.

In fact, I wish they hadn’t changed anything. As it was, the FZ V1 was perfect. Every "improvement" in later versions stripped it of a little of its charm.

A bit small for long rides, the fuel tank capacity 12 liters. It would have been way better for touring if they had made it 14-15 liters.

I wanted ABS sooner. It's such an important safety feature and Yamaha should have taken this on the FZ series much earlier.

It could have been a better seat. It’s comfortable for short rides but not so comfortable for longer rides. It would have been great to have a slightly softer seat.

I wish they had added just a bit more engine oil capacity. If you ride a lot though, you are changing oil quite frequently with current capacity.

My first long ride on the FZ V1 is my favorite memory. The bike was flawless from Delhi to Jaipur and I rode. It was that trip that made me fall in love with riding and the FZ.

It’s not one memory for me; it’s all the morning rides I’ve had. Cruising on empty roads in the morning on the FZ is kind of special. It's my meditation time.

I remember when I taught my younger brother to ride on my FZ—it was the best. It was great to see him go from nervous to confident on the bike. The FZ was an easy handling and perfect for a beginner.

My favorite memory is honestly when I bought it. I had been saving up for months and it was very proud moment to finally bring it home. I can still remember that feeling of achievement.

I would say when I went on a ride with a bunch of FZ owners. At the beginning, we were all strangers but by the end we were good friends. The FZ brought us together.

My favorite memory is using the FZ to courier a birthday cake to my now wife, girlfriend at the time, at midnight. The FZ with its reliability made it possible, the look on her face was priceless.

It’s because the FZ has started countless times without a hitch, even when parked for weeks. It’s not a glamorous memory, but it’s made me appreciate the bike’s reliability so much.

The best mod I’ve done, hands down, is installing a performance exhaust. The stock one is too quiet, and too restrictive. A good aftermarket exhaust really wakes up the engine and you can hear it nicely growl.

It’s the LED headlight upgrade for me. It's pretty weak stock headlight, especially for night riding. The LED conversion does make a huge difference in visibility and looks cooler as well.

Id say the best mod is to have no mod at all. It is perfect as is the FZ V1. Why mess with Yamaha's engineering?
