It's a great all-rounder. Tourable, but still fun in the twisties. Don't expect it to be a Gold Wing, just don't.

It is a great touring engine. It is smooth, has plenty of power and good fuel economy when you're cruising.

With the right mods it’s a fantastic tourer. Some hard luggage, a better seat, and a taller windscreen transform it.

Absolutely not. It’s just a bit too much bike for a beginner. Try a 250 or 300 and build from there.

It depends on the rider. If you're mature, it could work if you take it easy. However, it's too much for most newbies to handle safely.

No way. Learn on something smaller. If you are inexperienced, the FZ8 will get you into trouble real quick.

I think it's possible if you're really, really careful. At low RPMs, the power is manageable. Don’t go crazy with the throttle though.

Bad idea. The FZ8 is a handful sometimes even for experienced riders. Start small, learn the basics and upgrade.

Terrible first bike choice, nope. Start with an FZ6, or something like it. In newbie hands, the FZ8 is just begging for trouble.

It’s still a good bike but it’s definitely starting to show its age. Nakeds have come a long way, with way better electronics and suspension.

I can't stand a lack of modern features. Quickshifters and cornering ABS make a huge difference in the enjoyment of riding.

That depends on what you are after. If you want the latest tech, go new. The FZ8 is a great, reliable, no frills bike that still gets the job done.

The inline four of the FZ8 still sounds better than most modern triples or twins. Sometimes the old school way is the best.
