The Goldilocks bike is the 07, it's just right. A smaller bike is overkill for everyday riding, and you'll save money on gas and insurance.

The suspension, hands down. This thing is way too soft for aggressive riding or heavier riders. If you want to push the bike hard, you’ll have to upgrade it.

The biggest issue for me is lack of wind protection. Around town, it's fine, but on the highway you feel like a sail. It helps with a small screen, but it’s never going to be a tourer.

The stock brakes are pretty week. They're fine for normal riding but if you like to ride hard you'll want to upgrade the pads at least.

The lack of electronic aids I'd say. Some riders may have an issue with no traction control or riding modes, particularly in the wet.

The seat is the worst part. For short rides it's fine but anything over an hour and you'll be squirming. Almost a must are aftermarket seats.

I'd say the mirrors. With all the vibration, they're practically useless at highway speeds. Almost a necessity are bar end mirrors.

Absolutely! But the FZ-07 is a perfect beginner bike. It's nimble, it's light and the power is totally manageable if you're not an idiot with the throttle.

It's a terrible first bike. You'll get caught off guard by the torque and you'll be doing accidental wheelies before you know it. Learn on something smaller.
