The Punch was my wife's first car, from a hatchback, and she loves it. In fact, the higher ground clearance, she says, makes her feel more confident on bad roads.

It’s more about the driving experience than about gender, I would say. Anyone will have an adjustment period if you’re new to SUVs.

Since coming out of a Maruti, the Punch feels like a tank! It's not a luxury car, but for a budget SUV I have to say I am impressed at how well built it feels.

I've not had great experience. Paint quality issues and some interior trim piece came loose. Tata is better, sure, but they’re not quite there yet.

People's expectation is over, for the price. Considering Indian roads and safety, it is built well. What's important to me? That's what.

On the exterior I’d say is good quality, but interior has some work to do. Some rivals feel a bit more plasticky.

No big problems after 20,000 km so far, but I do see some inconsistent panel gaps. I wouldn’t exactly call it premium feeling, but it is sturdy overall.

Not the best, but it works for sure. All I actually care about is that Android Auto works fine. Not a deal-breaker for me.

It is actually pretty good given the price point. It's not a slick looker like more expensive cars, but has all the essential features you'd expect.

Almost never do I use the built in system. I simply connect to phone and use that UI instead. Works great that way.

Tata could use the software work really needs to be put into. A lot would help with regular updates.

I think it’s fantastic coming from an older car with no screen at all! Perhaps I am easy to impress, but it fulfils all those needs.

It could be improved quality wise. The problem is that it's not very bright, especially in sunlight.

It handles the city roads just fine, but I wouldn’t call it an offroader. It’s just more of a high riding hatchback than it is a proper SUV.

It’s a little bit firm for the suspension. Good for stability, but it transmits the bumps more than some softer tuned cars.

It held up ok when I took it on some pretty rough rural roads. It’s not as capable as a true 4x4, but way better than a normal hatchback.

It's good for most conditions, and I wish it had a little more pass power for highway overtaking. On steep inclined fully loaded it struggles a bit.

It will handle bad roads but also the ground clearance is enough to navigate poking your nose into tight city streets. Best of both worlds!

I’ve found it handles monsoon conditions really well. It has good visibility and doesn't feel skittish on wet roads.

In mixed driving I’m getting about 14-15 km/l which is not bad, but lower than claimed figures without a doubt. Well for an SUV style vehicle I guess is okay.
