For the price point though, it was pretty good. Of course, compared to more expensive cars, it’s not the slickest of drives but it has all of the features you actually need.

I have the built in system and I basically never use it. Rather, I simply connect my phone and instead use that interface. Works great that way.

Tata software really needs to step up their game though. Helps a good amount if you're getting regular updates.

I think it is great, coming from an older car, which has no screen at all. It’s easy maybe, I’m easily impressed, but it does everything I need.

The screen is quite nice. Sunlight isn't very great for it.
That brings us to our final question, does the Tata Punch's build quality live up to the hype?

I’ve had my Punch for a year and the build quality is solid. It’s tight and rollin’ without rattles, panel gaps, and feels sturdy on the road. The difference between then and now though is Tata've really upped their game.

It's OK, but we shouldn't oversell it. It’s still got some cheap plastics in there, and I’ve heard about few quality control issues. It's good for the price if very expensive as well, but not world class.

The fill feel of the Punch is from a tank when you come out of a Maruti. Yes, it's not luxury car quality, but considering its place in the budget SUV ranks, I'm impressed with how solid the whole thing feels.

It's not been a great experience. Had some paint quality issues and a couple interior trim pieces falling off. Tata is better, just not quite up to scratch yet.

I just think people expect too much given the price. Indian roads are not really that bad so it's built good enough and have good safety ratings. What’s important to me is that.

After 20,000 km there are no major issues but I definitely notice some inconsistent panel gaps. It's almost overall sturdy but not premium at all.

Grogging out of a 6 month stint driving the Punch, I can vouch for it being totally fine! This is actually pretty light steering, and the high seating position means great visibility. Driving it's not any harder than any other small car.

I think this entire debate is kinda sexist. The car does not recognize whether it is being driven by a man or woman. It's all about comfort, depending on which gender are you.

The Punch isn’t heavy really but the clutch is stiff in traffic. This isn't a gender thing, but if you constantly drive around city streets this may be a good concept to consider.

I’d say it’s less about gender and more about your experience as a driver. It will take time to get adjusted if you’re new to SUVs, but you should get used to it too because it will take time to get adjusted for anyone.

The Punch isn’t a heavy car, but the clutch can be a little stiff in stop start traffic. To be honest, it's not much of a gender thing, but if you're a person that does lots of city driving, you might want to consider this.
