Nice ground clearance but a pain to load and unload. There's always a trade-off.

I like the versatility as I operate in both urban and rural areas. It does fine on city streets, and doesn’t flinch at rough rural roads.

I don't think it's worth the center of gravity penalty. It feels a bit less stable on highways than lower vehicles.
Is the higher ground clearance of the Tata Intra a better option for rural deliveries?

Ground clearance is good, but it’s the availability of parts in rural areas that counts. There, Tata has an edge because of its network.

Ground clearance isn’t the only thing. Overall, the Intra seems to be built better for rough conditions than some of the competition.
Is the higher ground clearance of the Tata Intra a better option for rural deliveries?

It's overkill for most users, I think. However most rural roads are fine with standard clearance unless you’re regularly fording streams.
Does the Tata Intra V30's sudden acceleration problem make it a deal breaker?
26 December 2024 11:51
It’s definitely concerning, but I wouldn’t say it’s a deal breaker. Sometimes new models do these things. If Tata needs to issue a recall, it needs to investigate.
Does the Tata Intra V30's sudden acceleration problem make it a deal breaker?
26 December 2024 11:51
Are you kidding? Sudden acceleration in a commercial vehicle is super dangerous. Until Tata sorts this out completely, I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole.

We shouldn't make a mountain out of a molehill. How many people have the virus? It could be user error, or it could be a one off thing. For months now, my cousin has been driving an Intra V30 without any problems.
Does the Tata Intra V30's sudden acceleration problem make it a deal breaker?
26 December 2024 11:51
Whether it’s a deal breaker or not, it’s a big red flag. Tata needs to be transparent about what's causing this and how are they fixing it. Until then, I'd be wary.

I think it's going to depend on how Tata plays it. If they’re proactive and fix it quickly, it could even make them look better on customer service.

This is not uncommon with new models as I work with commercial vehicles. And Tata will probably fix it in time.

The real question – why didn’t this get caught in testing? You wonder what else is there.
Is the Tata Intra V70's payload capacity worth the extra money compared to competitors?

Is the Tata Intra V70's payload capacity worth the extra money compared to competitors?
26 December 2024 11:51
Not for small businesses. The upfront cost is too high and you don’t always need that extra capacity. It’s better to go for the cheaper option.
Is the Tata Intra V70's payload capacity worth the extra money compared to competitors?
26 December 2024 11:51
It depends on what you need. If you're already running out of payload on the vehicle you have now, the V70 makes a lot of sense. Otherwise, it might be too much.
Is the Tata Intra V70's payload capacity worth the extra money compared to competitors?
26 December 2024 11:51
The nice thing about the higher payload is that the fuel efficiency numbers are atrocious! So you may end up spending more on diesel than you save on trips.
Is the Tata Intra V70's payload capacity worth the extra money compared to competitors?
26 December 2024 11:51
I believe people are discounting the resale value. Tata vehicles retain their value well so you will get some of your extra cost back when you sell.

26 December 2024 11:51
As a fleet operator, I’d say just the reliability would be worth it. Tata’s commercial vehicles are built to last; therefore, less downtime.
