Absolutely! Every rupee spent on the extra power and range of the XUV400 is worth it. It’s way more fun to drive and you don’t have to worry about range as much.

Nah, it's overpriced. The Nexon EV is good enough for a city driving and has plenty of power. Also, Tata has better branding for EVs in India.
Does the extra price of the XUV400 over the Tata Nexon EV justify its performance?

Well, I think it depends on the usage you’re going to have. The XUV400 makes sense if you’re doing lots of highway driving. The Nexon EV is probably better value for city use.
Does the extra price of the XUV400 over the Tata Nexon EV justify its performance?

It is great performance but I'm not sure it's worth the price difference. Tata has a little more experience in the EV game and Mahindra is still new. The Nexon would make me feel safer.
Does the extra price of the XUV400 over the Tata Nexon EV justify its performance?

I'd say it's worth it. The XUV400 doesn’t feel like a converted ICE vehicle; it feels more like a ‘proper’ EV. For the extra range alone, it’s worth the price bump.

Performance is not all there is to it. The XUV400 is better featured, more premium overall. It is definitely worth spending the extra cash if you can afford it.
Does the extra price of the XUV400 over the Tata Nexon EV justify its performance?

I disagree. The Nexon EV has a proven reliability and a wider service network. However, most users will find this overkill and not worth the premium.
Is the Tata Nexon EV all that it’s hyped to be, or is it just jumping the bandwagon on EVs?

Of all the EVs in India (and there aren’t many), honestly, I think the Nexon EV deserves most of the hype. It is not perfect, but as an all around solid entry for anyone looking to go electric without spending the bank, its a solid choice. It’s not a bad range for a city car, and Tata is beefing up the charging infrastructure. Plus, they’ve got that SUV look to it which everyone seems to be crazy about nowadays.

Nah, it's overhyped. In hot weather with AC on, that real world range is a whole lot less than Tata claims. Good luck ever having a fast charger available when you realize you want one. This is a step in the right direction, but wait till you have better options or until the infrastructure improves if you intend to jump on the EV bandwagon.

I’ve had one for a year and love it. Yes, the range is by no means amazing, but that's not what you are going to need for the majority of commutes and weekend outings. It is addictive instant torque, and I like not going to petrol pumps anymore. It isn’t perfect but it’s a fantastic first EV for a lot of people.

If you look at it as a pioneer in the affordable EV space in India, the hype is justified. This has opened up the market, really, and forced other manufacturers to raise their game. But with so many newer options popping up all the time, it's starting to look its age a little. Tata needs to innovate and they have to continue in innovating if they are to remain ahead.

I think it's a bit of both. The Nexon EV is a good car, but there’s also quite some hype built around it due to lack of options in its price range. We'll have a much better idea of where it stands, as more competitors enter the market. It's a decent choice now, if you are EV curious and and don't want to spend a fortune.
