With a fully loaded luggage setup, how does the KTM 1290 Super Adventure ride two-up?
Adventure bike enthusiasts love to take a passenger or haul a full complement of camping gear and supplies on long trips. With its impressive power numbers and advanced suspension, the KTM 1290 Super Adventure seems like an ideal, fully loaded, two-up touring bike, but how does it handle? Suspension performance, vehicle handling, and overall stability in off-road situations are all a concern. The reason for this question is to learn from riders who have ridden their 1290 Super Adventure on extended two-up trips to find out how it handles with the added weight and how it compares to other adventure touring bikes being ridden in the same scenario.
It's a beast! You don’t even notice the extra weight. More than enough power, it adjusts the semi-active suspension beautifully.
Great on road but a handful off road when fully loaded. In technical terrain, you really feel the weight.
No issues at all. All you have to do is adjust the preload. I did a 2-week trip fully loaded with my wife, and it was great.
It's good, not as planted as my old R1200GS Adventure. Luggage requires more weight distribution than you are used to.
