Will the Royal Enfield Scrambler 650 steal sales from the Himalayan, or will it entice new riders?

With the Royal Enfield Scrambler 650, the company has introduced a new model, and it was launched to raise questions about the positioning of the product and the target audience. The Himalayan has proven itself as a doable adventure tourer, but the Scrambler 650 appears to be somewhere between retro styling and adventure capabilities. This could also mean internal competition in Royal Enfield's own range. For riders who don’t want to commit to a full blown adventure bike, but prefer the classic RE look with a bit more power and some off road ability, the Scrambler 650 may be the way to go. It could also attract a new segment of riders who find the Himalayan too focused on off road performance and would rather have a machine that is more versatile and road biased with scrambler aesthetics. How RE prices and markets its Scrambler 650 will be important to set it apart from the Himalayan and rest of the models in their lineup.

For many it’s gonna be the gateway drug to proper adventure riding.

There's room for both in the lineup, as long as it's priced right.

It’ll get people who thought the Himalayan was too imposing.

And see it become the new hipster favorite and outsell both!

They're smart, they'll market it as a lifestyle bike rather than a hardcore off roader.

Honest to be honest, it might eat into Interceptor sales more than Himalayan.

No, totally different crowds. Himalayan guys want real ADV, Scrambler people want style.
