Will the Indian traditional buyers love the unconventional design of the Svartpilen 801?

The neo retro design of the Husqvarna Svartpilen 801 differentiates it from all other motorcycles that are present the Indian market. It doesn’t look like anything most Indian buyers are used to seeing. It also begs the question of how it will be taken by more conservative or traditional motorcycle enthusiasts in India. If you look at it, it will appeal to some as a bold, pioneering take on motorcycling and to others as something too radical to be accepted by a mainstream base. The question is, is Indian buyer ready for such an unconventional design in a market that loves classical or more aggressive styling.

That is exactly why it is going to be successful, it is an unconventional design. There’s a new weariness of cookie cutter bikes.

It’s great for people that like to make a statement. Not all of us want to be blending in.

People will grow to love the design. At first it might look weird, but it will look good on the road.

Traditional buyers won’t like it, but it’s not who Husqvarna is targeting.

The same was said about the KTM Duke when it launched, and look how that turned out. Give it time.

The design is too polarizing. But it won't be a mass market success; it'll have a small, dedicated fan base.

Indians are becoming more design-conscious. It will do well, I think especially in the metro cities.

Younger riders will love something different. But the older crowd might not get it.
