Will the Classic 350 Bobber appeal to fans of traditional Royal Enfield or will it attract a new crowd?
Royal Enfield has a fanatical fan following which loves the brand for its classic styling and its heritage. The Classic 350 Bobber is a slight departure from their traditional designs, adding more custom inspired elements. The question here is who is the target audience for this new model? On the other hand, existing Royal Enfield enthusiasts would also be attracted to the Classic 350 platform they have already fallen in love with, in a new avatar. Maybe the Bobber could be a way for them to stand out, while still remaining within the RE family. But the bobber styling and modern touches like tubeless wheels might attract a younger, more style conscious crowd that found the Royal Enfields too old fashioned. It's also unclear whether the Bobber will draw custom bike enthusiasts to a factory machine they can start building from the ground up. If the Classic 350 Bobber is successful, it could suggest that Royal Enfield can mix the traditional and modern, and possibly point to the way its future models will go.
I think it will mostly appeal to existing RE fans that want something a little different. It’s not radical enough to attract a whole new crowd.
RE could use this as an opportunity to bring in younger riders looking for that retro look without the headache of owning a real old bike.
I'm not sold on it as a long time RE owner. They seem desperate to be trendy.
This would be appealing to folks who like the idea of a bobber but don’t want to build one themselves. It's a good entry point.
It may bring in some new buyers, but I don't think it will change the game for RE's audience.
But I think the Instagram crowd will like it. That photogenic quality will look great on social media.
This actually makes me more interested in Royal Enfield as a person new to motorcycles. It’s more accessible than their other models.
