Will the BE 6e’s infotainment system be good enough to use daily?

Earlier, Mahindra’s previous models — especially the XUV700 — have come under fire for their infotainment system reliability. Reports of screens going blank unexpectedly, system crashes and unresponsive touch screens have been reported by users. And driver BE 6e goes even further: Can integrate some of the climate controls and other vehicle settings as part of the infotainment system. The system's heavy reliance on touchscreen controls has prompted worries about its long term durability and usability in a country such as India, where extreme temperatures and dusty conditions are commonplace. On top of that, the tech heavy interface of such a device can be steep for some users, especially those who aren’t very tech savvy or prefer physical buttons for essential functions

The possibilities are exciting. Imagine what all the options and features they can add via software update!

How it holds up in Indian summers will be the real test. I'll be impressed if it can survive 45°C heat without glitching.

I think it's the right step. People love Tesla's been doing this for years. We have to accept that the future of car interiors is what we have to embrace.

I'm fine as long as it has wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Anyway, most people will only use their phones for navigation and music.

The lack of physical buttons is what I worry. And what if the screen freezes while you’re driving? How do you change basic settings or control AC?

It'll be fine. Tech improves fast, and I'm sure Mahindra has learnt from past mistakes. OTA updates can also fix most software issues as well.

I'm skeptical. Mahindra's poor record with infotainment, and suddenly they're putting everything on screens? Recipe for disaster.
