Nevertheless, the demand is there, and Bajaj seems to have the technical capability to launch an Avenger 400, but the company hasn't made any official announcements. That’s led to frustration among fans and potential buyers who see a gap in the market for a mid capacity cruiser at a competitive price point. The delay has also given time to Royal Enfield to gain strength in this segment.

I doubt it'll ever happen. Bajaj appears to be quite happy milking the current Avenger lineup without any significant investment. With the partnerships with KTM and Triumph, they are probably too busy to cover a new Avenger platform.
