Will the 2025 Bolero finally have the option of automatic transmission?
Automatic transmissions have been on a consistent rise in India, with more and more people preferring them because they make life easier in traffic conditions such as the ones in urban areas. In the budget segments, AMTs (Automated Manual Transmissions) are a common thing. But the Bolero has so far stuck with its manual only approach. There is speculation as to whether Mahindra will finally offer an automatic option in the Bolero when it updates the vehicle in 2025. Could this potentially open up the vehicle to a new set of buyers who prefer ease of driving, but at what cost, maintenance, and how does it fit with the utilitarian image of the Bolero?
An auto Bolero? It's like putting an escalator on Everest. It completely misses the point of the vehicle.
