Why also does Mahindra keep the Bolero's interior so basic when the vehicle is so popular?
For years, the Mahindra Bolero has been a best selling vehicle in its segment, particularly in rural areas. Known for its ruggedness, reliability and rough terrain handling. But the interior has been decidedly spartan and utilitarian compared to other vehicles in the price neighborhood. Over the years Mahindra has updated other aspects of the Bolero, but the interior hasn’t changed much. But this has led to debates among car enthusiasts as to whether Mahindra should modernize the cabin of the Bolero or keep it basic. Some say that the simple interior is its charm and makes it cheap, while others think it's old fashioned and should be updated to the same standards as might be found in modern buildings. The reason why Mahindra created the Bolero's interior design and if this strategy is the right one for this popular model is the question of this question.
All it is is the target market, man. Bolero buyers do not care about fancy interiors. What they need is a tough, no nonsense vehicle that will stand up to a beating. They would just add plush seats and touchscreens, to drive up the cost for features they don't need.
