Which one is the better all-rounder, the XC F or the EXC F?
The KTM 250 XC-F and EXC-F are both popular models; however, they are designed for somewhat different purposes. The XC-F is set up for racing, and the EXC-F for enduro and trail riding. This difference is at the heart of ongoing debates as to whether one of these bikes is more versatile for riders who want to do a bit of everything. Suspension setup, gearing, and street-legal components are also a factor. One group contends that if you're willing to modify the XC-F, it can be ridden on the trail, while another says the EXC-F is ready to go right out of the box for all types of riding. But, much like anything else KTM-related, the choice is usually a matter of personal preference and style and is a hot topic among KTM fans.
XC-F all the way. Making a trail bike competitive is easier than making a race bike street legal.
EXC-F is the clear winner. It’s already set up for varied terrain, and you can still race it if you like.
Depends on your riding split. If you’re 70% trails, 30% race, go EXC-F. If it's the opposite, XC-F.
The XC-F with a few mods is the do-it-all bike. It throws on lights, a kickstand, and you’re good to go.
Long rides are more comfortable in EXC-F. If you’re not racing, the XC-F can be a little bit harsh.
I have both, and the XC F is more fun. In all situations it feels more alive and responsive.
Neither. If you want a true all-rounder, get a 350. It’s more versatile because of the extra power.
