When we talk about the Tata Curvv EV, will it tap into the avant garde features such as a touchscreen smart watch with a remote controlled feature; will it be a game changer or just another gimmick?
Tata Curvv EV is all set to offer millennial generation passengers an exciting infotainment system, which is ever so making waves in the automotive community! Some are calling it a potential game changer in India’s EV market, thanks to the promise of advanced connectivity features and a large touchscreen display. But, people are split on whether these high tech features will greatly improve the driving experience, or if they're just fancy add ons cabin. Others say advanced infotainment systems can be distracting, and even dangerous, particularly in India's chaotic traffic. Some suggest that most Indian consumers don’t care if the phones are high tech, they just want things that work. Then there’s the question of long term reliability and ease of use – will the system be easy enough for everybody, all ages, to use and how will it hold up long term? Some also worry that infotainment steals some of the spotlight from the more important things about the car. With such a fast paced Indian automotive market how do you think the Curvv's infotainment system will be received and will it actually make the car stand out from its competitors?
I certainly believe it will be a game changer. The Indian consumer loves tech and a slick infotainment system may swing it for a lot of buyers, particularly the younger ones.
It's another distraction. We should have our heads turned towards the road, not towards shiny touchscreens. The last thing we need in Indian traffic is more excuses for taking our eyes off the road.
The true test will be whether it plays nice with our phones and apps. If only it integrates well with WhatsApp and Google Maps, it really is a useful tool. Or if that’s not the case, it’s just a really expensive screen.
Long term reliability is a concern of mine. Yes, sure, was it cool new, but then a couple of years down the line what happens when it starts to glitch! These high tech systems can be hell to repair.
It’s not the hardware it’s the software. If Tata would keep it updated with new features and also would regularly fix bugs it might be great. It'll be useless if they abandon it after launch.
I think its overkill for the Indian market. People just want a reliable car with good mileage. So really unnecessary cost for all this fancy features.
Fitted with EV specific options such as real-time range prediction and charging station locators though, the infotainment could be a big selling point. That would actually have added value.
