When driving at a long distance, how does the Nexon ride?

In urban situations, the comfortable ride of the Tata Nexon has been praised, but endless discussion continues about how well the car handles longer journeys on varied Indian road conditions. However, some owners claim that the Nexon eliminates highs and lows on the highway with a controlled stable, comfortable ride. But, others have said they have highspeed stability or are uncomfortable on long trips. In this debate, the most important factors are the suspension setup, the seat and noise insulation. In addition to that, since this is such a miniscule compact SUV, people are interested in how much long distance comfort does this Nexon offer as compared to their competitors. We want to know how Nexon owners feel about their time behind the wheel, when embarking on long drives – how they fare on long journeys, how much fatigue they experience after a long time on the road, and whether their comfort features qualify for a vehicle that sees action equally in the city commute and weekend getaways.

People expect too much from a compact SUV, I reckon. But given what it is, the Nexon handles long trips well. Yes, it’s not a giant SUV, but the seating is much more comfortable than in most hatchbacks. You just have to adjust your expectations.

I drive a lot between cities so the Nexon is pretty capable. It’s a high seating position for less fatigue, with steering that’s light enough to be maneuverable. It’s not perfect, but it’s quite comfortable enough for most journeys.

It's a mixed bag. It’s not really noisy, but the ride quality ain’t that great. It's great on smooth highways, but it doesn't feel so good on bad roads. Of course, it is hard to complain a lot, given the price point, though.

Long journeys, I'm not that into the Nexon. If it's too stiff on concrete highways its the suspension and the rear seats lack thigh support. It’s ok for city use but for trips on the road, something bigger would be nice.

But I think the Nexon does a solid job for its size and price on long trips. It’s not luxury car smooth, but it’s comfy enough. It’s taking breaks every couple hours. Fortunately, the AC is well enough; Indian summers are not bearable without one.

For really long hauls, it’s decent, but not great. After about 3-4 hours, I begin to experience some lower back pain. It’s a smooth ride on good roads, but chopsy on bad patches. High speed wind noise is also noticeable.

I am not into long drives, but I have to say that I've taken a couple 500+ km trips in my Nexon and it was quite comfortable. The seats are supportive, with the exception of a few small bumps that the suspension sorks up nicely. Stability around highway is good, but on twisty roads you are aware of some body roll.
