What would you change about the Yamaha RX 135 if you could change only one thing?

That being said a lot of people loved the Yamaha RX 135, but it wasn’t without its quirks and potential areas for improvement. Enthusiasts are asked to think critically about the design and functionality of the bike, and determine what single change would have the greatest impact on performance, reliability, or user experience. It’s a game of prioritising; you need to take into consideration elements such as engine performance, fuel efficiency, comfort, styling or maintenance costs. By limiting respondents to "one change" they are forced to reveal what they value most in a motorcycle. This could open the opportunity to discuss what makes a great motorcycle at the time and what a bikes strengths and weakness were compared to its peers and other models. It also permits for creative thinking about motorcycle design and how small adjustments can occasionally be quite a radical change in a bike's whole character as well as its appeal.

Add an oil injection system. Fuel premixing was fun for about a week, then it became a chore.

Redesign the air filter box. It was a pain to clean and probably robbed some power.

I'd make it a bit heavier. It sounds crazy, but a little more weight would have made it more stable at high speeds.

Bigger fuel tank. It had a pathetic range if you were enjoying yourself with it.

Make it easier to work on. Tinkering was half the fun, but with some simple design tweaks maintenance could be a breeze.

Improve the electrics. There’s nothing worse than having to bump start it because the battery died... again.

I'd add a sixth gear. On the highway, it always felt like it needed one more to really settle in.

Better brakes, hands down. Stopping was great, but the acceleration. Not so much. It would've been so much safer with disc brakes.
