What will the Royal Enfield Classic 250 mean for the custom scene?

Customization of Royal Enfield motorcycles has been a popular choice since ages, and the aftermarket scene is thriving. With the introduction of the Classic 250, the question becomes how this will fit into that culture. There are some enthusiasts excited about the possibility of a lighter, more affordable base to build custom projects on. But others question whether the smaller engine will dampen its appeal to custom builders who tend to prize power and presence over all else. And there's also some speculation as to whether Royal Enfield will offer official customization options for the 250, as they do for some of their other models. The custom bike community is keenly interested in the Classic 250’s potential to inspire new trends in motorcycle modification.

This could really be huge for the custom scene. A cheaper base bike makes it possible for more people to be able to customize. There will be tons of wild Classic 250 builds.

I doubt it. What real custom builders want is more power to work with. That means that the 250 will be considered a beginner's bike, not a serious custom platform.

In fact, it might actually propel customization in new directions. If it were about aesthetics and practicality instead of power, builders would be free to get creative.

I think RE would be wise to provide the 250 with official custom parts. It could open the door to the modding scene for younger riders.

I can't wait to see what people do with it. It could be the perfect thing for scrambler or cafe racer builds thanks to the lighter weight.

It'll most likely split the custom scene. There will be purists who stick to the bigger bikes, and a new wave of 250 adoptions for budget builds.

Learners who want to get into bike customization will love this. Begin with small projects, learn the ropes, and then move up to bigger projects.
