What will the Maruti eVX be feature and tech wise compared to established EV players?

However, Maruti Suzuki is entering the EV market at a time when the established players have already set some expectations in terms of features and technology which the electric vehicles should carry. The eVX will be up against cars that have driver assistance features, over the air updates, state of the art infotainment systems, and other connected car features. The problem is for Maruti, which has traditionally not been at the forefront of automotive technology. The company will have to walk a tight line between its reputation for simplicity and reliability and the high tech expectations of the EV market. The other question is, do Indian consumers really want or need that much technology in their cars, and will Maruti's understanding of the market give them an edge in supplying the right mix of features? The debate revolves around whether Maruti should look to replicate tech offerings of premium EV makers or should rather double down on perfecting a few key features that are most important to their target audience.

Maruti doesn’t need to go overboard with tech, a good range, fast charging and a reliable infotainment system is enough.

Disagree. EVs are all about tech. Without OTA updates and ADAS, the eVX would feel outdated the moment it was released.

They should use their Suzuki Connect system and build upon it. Modern EVs must have connected car features.

I just hope they don’t stuff it with unnecessary tech just to tick boxes. Maruti's strength is in making simple and usable.

At least one feature on the eVX needs to stand out. Perhaps, though, a really good voice assistant or exceptional audio system?

More important than gadgets is battery tech. Better efficiency and longevity is a bigger win for Maruti than fancy screens.

They should concentrate on bringing smartphone integration. For most Indians, it’s about their phone working without a hitch with the car, rather than the features built into the car.

I’d like to know how they do software. Will they build in house or partner with tech companies?

Please, no touch only controls, whatever they do. Some physical buttons are required to keep important functions!
