What will be the Maruti NEXA Jimny EV’s weight distribution and center of gravity versus the petrol version and how will that affect its off road performance?

With the change from a traditional internal combustion engine to an electric powertrain comes the weight distribution and center of gravity changes due to the collection of power and braking sources in one location. Petrol Jimny is famous for being light weight and ideal weight distribution that helps it to have nimble off road performance. Of course, adding heavy battery packs to the EV version will inevitably make the vehicle heavier and, quite possibly, change the center of gravity. While this may have positive and negative effects on its off road capabilities. Weight might lower a center of gravity for better stability, but the weight itself could hamper agility, and lead to getting stuck in very soft terrain. How the vehicle handles in different off road situations will be determined greatly by the placement of the batteries within the chassis. The discussion is about whether the advantages of instant torque and better weight distribution from the EV powertrain can overcome the disadvantages of increased overall weight in off road.

The battery pack will also help to make it even more stable on side slopes due to the lower center of gravity. It's a win for off-roading!
