What kind of software and UI will the Tata Avinya will have compared to tech focused EVs like Tesla?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views7 comments
In today’s EV space, software and UI are as relevant as traditional automotive components. Tesla has raised the bar for advanced infotainment, over the air updates, and technology centric approach to transportation. As a next generation EV, Tata Avinya is expected to compete both in terms of driving performance and the technology it offers. That leads to questions about Tata's software capabilities and whether it can provide an interface as intuitive and feature packed as Tesla and other tech focused EVs. Some say Tata should work with tech giants like Google or Apple, while others believe Tata should develop its own proprietary system. However, some say that only the most advanced software features will make the difference in the premium EV segment, while others say that traditional automotive virtues are still more important to most buyers. The talk also covers questions of data privacy, cybersecurity, and the trade off between high tech features and usability.

I’m hoping they don’t try to pack in too many features and focus on making the UI simple and intuitive, like some other brands.

Things like a responsive touchscreen and seamless smartphone integration are what they have to nail. Later on, fancy features can come.

Using its IT services experience, Tata could have made a really polished system. Don't underestimate them.

Software isn't everything. Most people are more interested in the driving experience as long as it works and isn't buggy.

They should just use Android Automotive and just make great hardware. There’s no need to reinvent the wheel.

Tata will surprise us, I think. They've spent a lot of money on software and they could come up with something really innovative.

Tesla’s software will be years ahead of Tata’s. They just don’t have the tech expertise or the Silicon Valley mindset.
