Given the wide variety and even harsh nature of roads across the country for Indian car buyers, good ride quality is a make or break factor. It will be a premium offering in the compact SUV segment with a promise of comfort. But opinions on its performance on Indian roads seem to differ. One thing is certain — some praise how well it absorbs bumps and potholes while others find it too stiff. That means there are questions about how it holds a candle to its competitors, such as the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, or the Tata Nexon, in terms of ride comfort. Is the XUV300 the best of both worlds, handling and comfort? What is the performance on different types of road; smooth highways or rough rural paths? In this article, we will try to find out how owners of XUV300 are experiencing the real world and how the suspension setup of the car is affecting the daily drive comfort over different Indian road conditions.

In fact, the ride quality is pretty good. I’ve driven on some bad roads and the XUV300 does way better than my previous hatchback.

Suspension is a little too stiff for me. It’s great for handling, but on bad roads, you feel every bump. Long drives don't make my back happy.

I feel the ride of the XUV300 is better than the Brezza. It is more planted and absorbs bumps better.

The front seat passengers ride comfortably, but passengers in the back seat complain of it being bouncy over uneven roads.

Cornering wise it's great, but the stiff suspension can be uncomfortable in the city. I'll take the good handling as a trade off.

I think the ride quality is just ok after a year of driving. Not horrible, but not as good as I was expecting from Mahindra's claims about the European tuned suspension.

It’s really a matter of tire pressure. I discovered that a slightly lower pressure than the recommended level made a big difference to ride comfort with no real loss of handling.
