What is the Nexon EV real world performance compared to its ICE counterpart?

The proprioceptive/control algorithms required to generate the necessary motions for similar systems can be extremely complex in actuality, and can take many steps to implement. This raises questions how these theories compare in real world driving situations. That gives the EV instant torque and smooth acceleration but the benefit of the ICE is a quick refill at the pump and perhaps better highway manners. City Driving Efficiency, Highway Cruising, Overtake Capabilities and Overall Driving Experience comes into action. However, there is much debate about which EV variant is more fun in dense areas: some say the EV's performance makes it better suited, while others prefer the ICE's capability on long drives. But the debate also extends to maintenance, long term reliability and general value proposition of each.

When it comes to stop and go traffic, there's nothing that beats an EV. There was no clutch, no gear changes, just a smooth acceleration. Driving in the city is less stressful. I agree with others that for long trips, in constrained areas of charging infrastructure the ICE version still has the upper hand.

The simplicity of the ICE version is what I actually like. There’s no range anxiety, no waiting for charges. Yes, the EV might be smoother, but it’s far more practical for my lifestyle. Also, I can’t help but think they don’t know exactly where EV technology is heading yet, and ICE tech has been around long enough to be considered a known quantity.

It surprised me when I saw how these changes performed in real world use for the EV. However the weight distribution helps it perform better on speed breakers and on potholes. Not to mention the savings of fuel costs. But I wish it had just a little extra top end grunt for highway overtakes.

I happen to own both, and the EV more so fits for me when it comes to using daily. The less maintenance they require, no oil changes and less costly to run. I do miss a bit of that convenience for getting filled up on long trips. For my mostly city driving, the EV wins, it’s a tradeoff.

Depends on your usage i think. For the most part, short trips and city driving, the EV is great. The ICE still wins during those weekend getaways or long travels on the road, however. Ev infrastructure simply isn’t there yet for easy long distance stress free travel.

In terms of refinement, the EV floors the ICE. It's so much quieter and smooth. And with the low center of gravity from the battery pack, it feels that way planted on the road. I wouldn’t go back to the ICE version for daily driving.

I’ve driven both and have to say the EV is definitely more fun in the city. The reason that zipping through traffic is effortless is that instant torque. The ICE version still does it for me on highways, though. At high speeds it feels more confident, without having to worry about charging stops.
