The Maruti Swift Diesel 2010 returned a mileage 16 kmpl in the city traffic whereas the highway value stays mostly between 18-19 kmpl. The car was the best selling diesel model of its time and had the most impressive design in the hatchback segment. It was powered by a Fiat sourced 1248 cc, 4-cylinder diesel engine producing 84 BHP @ 4000 rpm and 115 NM @ 4500 rpm. With 43 liters of fuel tank, the car reached a top speed of 160 kmph. The 5-speed manual transmission worked best at its time. The uppermost trim of the Swift has features like airbags, ABS and 15 inch alloy wheels. India's favorite car had a seating capacity of 5 adults, with a boot space of 232 liters.
