Cubic centimeter (cc) is a measure of the displacement of the engine. It is a dimensional representation of engine cylinder volume. This is the total volume of all the cylinders including number of cylinders x cross section area x stroke length. Cubic centimeter is generally used for small model engine of motorcycles and small cars. Liters are common measurements used in large cars. For example- a car that has a 1.5L engine will have a 1500 cc engine. As we know it is used to measure engine displacement and engine displacement means the swept volume of all the pistons inside the cylinders of a reciprocating engine in a single movement. This number is approximately the displacement volume of the engine i.e. the volume covered by the stroke of the piston multiplied by the number of cylinders the engine has. In other words, the displacement is calculation of the bore and the stroke. The bore is the diameter of the area swept by the piston and the stroke is the movement from top dead center to bottom dead center. It tells capacity of combustion cylinder, which denotes the power in the engine.
