What is the Chetak 3201 like in typical Indian road conditions?

Electric scooters face unique challenges of Indian roads. Powered by an electric powertrain and modern suspension, the Bajaj Chetak 3201 must deal with everything from smooth highways to pothole filled streets and dirt roads. It is debated under what conditions it performs. Its safety, its stabilization, and its driving smoothness are praised by some, but denigrated for others, their ability to go, to drive, in rougher terrains. Electric scooters run differently because of the weight distribution. Then there is the matter of water logging in monsoon, how does the Chetak 3201 fare in wet conditions? Ground clearance and suspension travel is also important. We also cannot forget about what carrying a pillion or heavy loads will do to its performance. Can the electric powertrain get up steep inclines with ease?

Surprisingly good! It’s really stable because of the low center of gravity.

On normal roads it's okay, but on bigger potholes it struggles. Suspension could be better.

It seems to handle better then my old petrol scooter in traffic.

The torque is perfect for hills, but I do worry about the range impact.

It's not great in heavy rain. I've had some near death water splashes.

It’s decent, but I wish it had a bit more ground clearance for speed bumps.

It feels really planted on highways, the weight. Confidence-inspiring!

It's a mixed bag. It's great in the city but I wouldn't take it on really bad roads.
