What is the best exhaust for the Duke 790?
A lot of Duke 790 owners want to upgrade the stock exhaust for improved sounds and possibly some performance gains. All of this results in discussion about what the best options for sound quality, weight savings, performance upgrades, and overall value are. Some riders like slip-on options for their ease of installation and cost, while others argue for full systems to really benefit. You'll also find discussion regarding whether certain exhausts need to be ECU-tuned to work correctly and how different options change the power delivery of the bike. There are also noise levels and legal considerations to consider; some riders prefer a loud, aggressive sound while others want something a bit more mellow for daily riding.
The Akrapovic titanium system sounds amazing and saves a ton of weight. It's pricey but worth it.
I picked the SC Project CRT. It’s a loud growl, but not obnoxious sounding, and it adds a nice growl to the bike.
The stock exhaust with the baffle removed sounds pretty good, honestly. It’s not worth saving your money for other mods.
A good balance of sound and performance and not breaking the bank, Arrow is a great slip-on.
I love my Austin Racing GP2R. The sound is intoxicating, but it’s definitely on the louder side.
The Yoshimura Alpha T is a great choice. Not too loud for daily use but a nice bark when you get on it.
I'd avoid anything too loud. And your neighbors will hate you, and you'll get sick of it quickly.
Leo Vince LV-10 is a good budget option. Not a fortune, but decent sound improvement.
Whatever you pick, make sure you get it tuned. Many of the exhausts have to be remapped to work properly on the 790.
I like my Remus Hypercone. It's a nice middle ground between stock and the super loud options.
