What is the Aprilia SR 125 like to ride in heavy traffic when compared to other scooters?

While the Aprilia SR 125 gets a lot of praise for its sporty handling and tendency to get ahead of things, people have quite a different opinion when it comes to how it performs in the traffic, which it is supposed to cater as quasi city commuter. Its responsive throttle and quick acceleration make it a perfect zipping through traffic tool for some riders, but others argue it's too large, with stiffer suspension, and not as maneuverable in tight spaces as smaller scooters. Stop and go traffic also has a lot to do with how your scooter handles, since weight distribution and seating position can make a difference. The question of whether the sporty attributes that make it fun on open roads become a hindrance in bumper to bumper situations is up for debate. Furthermore, fuel efficiency and heat management in slow moving traffic is being discussed by the urban commuters who want to take the SR 125 as their daily ride.

It's a beast in traffic! The quick acceleration lets you zip through gaps other scooters can’t.

But, I think it’s a bit too bulky for heavy traffic. Less convenient are smaller scooters which move more easily in tighter spots.

The SR 125 handles well, but its stiff suspension can wear you out in stop and go traffic.

It's perfect for traffic. Higher seating position provides you with better visibility and it's nimble enough to slip through cars.

I switched from an Activa to the SR 125, and while it’s sportier, it’s not as practical in heavy traffic.

The responsive throttle is too quick for making sudden starts at traffic lights but jerky if you aren’t used to it.

It's a mixed bag. Sporty riding position is great for short bursts, but not so good for long traffic jams.

It just handles in traffic so well. Squeezing between cars, it feels more stable than smaller scooters.

The SR 125 is too much for heavy traffic. You can’t really use its performance, and it is less fuel efficient when constantly stopping and starting.

Nothing special, it's fine in traffic. In congested conditions, any decent 125cc scooter will pretty much do the job.
