What is Ashok Leyland Dost Plus LX like to drive as a long haul LCV from a comfort and ergonomics point of view?
Nice, but not great for really long trips. The steering wheel could be adjustable and the seat could use more cushioning. I feel pretty sore after about 5 or 6 hours.
For a person who does 10-12 hour trips all the time, I find the Dost Plus LX to be surprisingly comfortable. It is very good visibility which really cuts down on eye strain on long drives.
The Dost is like a luxury car when compared to my old Mahindra Jeeto. The cab noise is reduced and the suspension is better on bumpy roads. My back thanks me every day.
It's a mixed bag. Seating position is good, but there is no proper lumbar support which becomes a real problem on long drives. In peak summer, the AC struggles to keep up, which is a real comfort killer.
It's pretty comfortable for an LCV. However, it’s not a long haul truck. I can make 6 hour trips just fine but I wouldn't want to go much above that without a break.
I have found the Dost Plus LX to be surprisingly roomy as a larger guy. Seat adjustability is good and control placement is intuitive. This has made my delivery routes much more bearable.
The ride is pretty bumpy when empty, but it’s comfortable enough. I have found that a small cushion on the seat makes all the difference in the world on those long highway stretches.
The comfort level is impressive for an LCV. Long trips are noticeably free of vibration compared to other vehicles in its class. The one thing that could use improvement for us long haul guys would be better storage options in the cabin.
