What has changed about the Nissan Sunny over the years and how has it managed to keep up with ever changing consumer expectations?

Nissan Sunny has a long history and has appeared in many different updates and changes after so many decades. But it's also worth looking at how this model has changed over time, from a design perspective as well as a technology one. Has the Sunny been able to maintain a pace with the changing consumer expectation and market trends? To begin with, let’s see how the Sunny has been redesigned and updated over the years. Have these changes managed to fix criticisms of earlier models? Comparing some of older Sunny models with these latest models would be interesting. Has Nissan fallen behind its rivals, or done enough to keep the Sunny relevant in an increasingly competitive market? As you would maybe expect, we feel the Sunny's evolution could give us an insight to Nissan's strategy for this model and, indeed, whether there is still a place for it in today's market.

I’d say that the Sunny has actually regressed in some regards. But they had more character, and were more fun to drive. The new ones are just bland.

The problem is, Sunny has not evolved as fast as consumer expectations. Now people want more tech and style even in budget cars, and the Sunny hasn't quite caught up.

The Sunny has improved greatly on interior space. For their class, the newer models are surprisingly roomy.

Evolution of the Sunny has been more about refinement than revolution. It’s a bit better each generation, but there’s been no game changing update.

Nissan has managed to keep the Sunny up to date, while retaining its basic identity as a reliable, affordable sedan, I think. It's not cutting edge and doesn’t need to be.

It hasn't evolved honestly. It still looks dated compared to its rivals. If Nissan want to remain relevant, they need to step it up.

The Sunny has certainly come a long way, and improved by leaps and bounds when it comes to safety features and fuel efficiency. However it still lags a bit behind the competition in terms of infotainment and design.
