Enthusiasts enjoy modifying motorcycles and the Thunderbird 500X is no different. Many owners debate the pros and cons of anything from basic cosmetic changes to major performance upgrades. But common mods are aftermarket exhausts, air filters, and ECU remaps to increase power and amplify the exhaust note. The handling and comfort are also frequently discussed, and suspension upgrades are frequently mentioned. While I look to avoid changing my bike from the stock standard and keeping the original character, there are some who think that mods could fix some of the blueprint shortcomings of the 500X and enhance the riding experience.
