What do FZS 250 owners swear by regarding modifications?

by Sukhmandeep Kaurover 1 year ago0 views8 comments
Personalizing their ride is something motorcycle enthusiasts like doing, and FZS 250 owners are no different. This question takes a look at the most common, the most drastic, or the most effective bike modifications riders chose to make substantial changes to their bike for any reason: performance, aesthetic, comfort. Typically, the discussion includes a variety of upgrades from simple cosmetic changes to more complex performance enhancements. Most owners spend time debating the merits of various exhaust systems, suspension upgrades, seat modifications, and electronic add ons such as phone mounts and USB chargers. There are some riders that want to improve the touring abilities of the bike, and other riders that want to enhance the performance to make it sportier. We also talk about keeping the bike reliable while making modifications, and how some changes affect warranty and resale value.

I have found that replacing the brake lines with steel braided ones really improves the braking feel. You won't see it, but it's great for safety and performance.

I swear by a good windscreen for touring. On long highway stretches, it makes a huge difference, cutting wind fatigue. It also makes the bike look more substantial.

I did the whole LED lights all around thing. It looks pretty cool too, and gives better visibility at night. But just make sure you don’t go too bright and blind other drivers!

A good air filter and a Power Commander can wake up the engine a bit if you’re looking for a performance boost. It won't make it into a race bike, but it does make a difference.

I honestly think the FZS 250 is pretty solid stock. Apart from that I have just added some frame sliders for protection and a tail tidy to tidy up the rear end. Sometimes less is more.

Practical mods are something I’m a big fan of. I added a phone mount with USB charger and it’s been super handy for navigation and keeping my phone charged up on longer trips.

Comfort is all I care about. A custom seat was installed and it has made a world of difference on long rides. After an hour of riding, no more numb bum!

I started with the stock exhaust and replaced it with an aftermarket one. It shaves off some weight and the sound improvement is incredible. Make sure it's road legal, though.
