What are some common GPR 150 problems and how easy are they to fix?

by Sukhmandeep Kaurover 1 year ago0 views9 comments
Like every other motorcycle model, the Aprilia GPR 150 has its quirks and its potential problems. There are many issues that owners of this sporty small displacement bike may encounter during ownership. They could be as minor as an annoyance, or as serious as a mechanical problem. Knowing these common problems can assist a potential buyer in making a knowledgeable decision and an owner in understanding what he might have to deal with. Furthermore, the convenience of solving these problems can make a huge difference in the total ownership experience, especially if one is inclined to do his own work on his own bike. When it comes to maintenance & repairs, things such as parts availability, repair complexity and availability of specialised tools all need to be taken into consideration, is how user friendly the GPR 150 is.

It’s a known weak point of the fuel pump. At about 15,000 km, mine failed. They are not too expensive to replace, but are definitely inconvenient.

I think the biggest issue for me has been finding a mechanic who knows these bikes. Most shops don't know Aprilias.

The paint quality isn’t great, I’ve noticed. I'm super careful with my tank, it already has a few chips.

This bike is a pain to adjust valve. You can do this at home, but you need special tools and patience.

The clutch cable stretches and the adjustment is very frequent. Something to keep an eye on, but an easy fix.

In two years of ownership mine has had zero issues. Regular maintenance is key.

The stock exhaust rusts out pretty quickly. But aftermarket options aren't cheap.

They’re pretty common electrical gremlins. It's already had to be replaced twice. Annoying, not too hard to fix.

The biggest problem I have is finding parts. April's supply chain isn't great and even minor repairs can take forever.
