For example, Tesla's warranties are for 8 years with unlimited miles, while Hyundai's EV batteries from 2020 onwards are guaranteed to maintain 70% of their capacity for 10 years or 100,000 miles. These warranties usually ensure that the battery retains a certain percentage of its original capacity, such as 70% or 75%, during the warranty period. Additionally, some states like California mandate even longer warranty periods, such as 10 years or 150,000 miles, with the battery required to retain at least 70% of its range. Many warranties are also transferable to new owners, providing continued protection for used vehicle buyers.
