We take a look at how the Nexon Dark Edition’s black interior holds up in daily use.

The Tata Nexon Dark Edition sports an all black interior which is a departure from the usual lighter interiors on Indian cars. However, this design choice has been the source of many debates among owners and potential buyers on whether it is practical for use in everyday life. Others say the dark interior helps the cabin feel more premium and keeps dirt and stains better hidden. Some say it could also make the interior feel smaller and possibly hotter in warm weather. Incidents also surface concerning lack of visibility in the cabin, though especially at night or at a low light level. Finally, there’s maintenance: a dark interior, some say, is easier to look clean, but other people maintain that dust and scratches are more obvious on black surfaces. Also of discussion among Nexon enthusiasts, is the impact on resale value and long term wear and tear.

Not the best for night time visibility. I had to add some ambient lighting to make it practical.

Surprisingly good! I thought it would be hard to keep clean but it's been easier than my previous car with beige interiors.

It's ok, but it makes the cabin smaller. I wish they had a two tone option.

Actually prefer it. Feels cozy and doesn’t reflect light like a lighter interior. Great for long drives.

Mixed feelings. It looks premium but dusts easily. It needs to be cleaned quite often if it is to look good.

It's a nightmare in summer. It feels like sitting in an oven. Lighter interiors are way more practical.

Love it! Hides stains like a champ. Worrying about kids making a mess is a thing of the past.
