Was the Zen Estilo ahead of its time in terms of interior space?

The Maruti Zen Estilo, with its tall-boy design, offered significantly more interior space compared to its predecessor and many contemporaries in its segment. This design choice prioritized headroom and overall cabin space in a small car footprint, a concept that wasn't very common in India at the time of its launch in 2006. The increased interior volume allowed for a more upright seating position, easier ingress and egress, and a sense of airiness inside the cabin. This approach to maximizing interior space in a small car has since become more popular, with several manufacturers adopting similar strategies in their compact car designs. The question of whether the Zen Estilo was a trendsetter in this regard or simply ahead of the curve in the Indian market has been a point of discussion among automotive enthusiasts and industry observers.

Definitely ahead of its time. Now every small car tries to maximize interior space like the Estilo did.
