The Stargazer’s third row comfort, how does it fare against other MPVs in its class?

For most MPV buyers, comfort in third row is a significant purchase factor as many are families who are carrying large families or travelling in groups. The unique design of the Stargazer raises questions as to how it affects rear passenger space. A few reviews note that the third row can recline, something unheard of in this segment. The overall dimensions of the vehicle, though, suggest it won't be as spacious as some competitors. This is a trade off between style and practicality. Can the Stargazer pull off futuristic design without sacrificing the usability for all passengers? For many, this is a crucial consideration for would be buyers who have to frequently use all three rows.

Surprisingly good! At first I was skeptical but the reclining feature makes a huge difference. It's not limo level comfort but it’s way better than being crammed in the back of a Mitsubishi Xpander.

Nothing special, but okay. It’s nice to recline, but there’s still not enough leg room for adults. Fine for kids, though.

I believe that's a game changer for the segment. Usually only in much more expensive vehicles, you can recline in the third row. Long trips are so much more bearable with it.

Back there it's still cramped, honestly. It’s just a gimmick to hide the lack of space. I’d prefer to have a boxier design with more room.

It's a mixed bag. It's comfortable enough but it's a pain getting in and out as the roofline slopes. Either you want to be comfortable seated, or you want easy access.

As a 6'2 guy, I was pleasantly surprised. I wouldn't want to spend hours back there but for short trips it is totally manageable. For a price, that's more than I can say for most MPVs.

Stargazer's secret weapon is the third row. The reclining is not the only thing more thoughtful than most competitors; the seat design itself is too. Hyundai seems to have remembered that humans might actually sit back there.
