The Pulsar NS125 is a good bike for beginners?
Getting your first motorcycle is a big milestone for many young riders in India. Due to its sporty looks and low price, the Pulsar NS125 is often suggested to new riders. However, some argue that its power and feature set are not most suited for the complete novice, while others insist it is perfect for the rider who is a little bit more advanced. It's perfect to learn on, some say, but others say a more basic commuter bike would be safer. When we look at the NS125 friendliness for beginners, we consider things such as its weight, its seat height and in this case its braking system. There's also talk about whether its performance might be too tempting to handle responsibly for new riders.
Absolutely! The NS125 is a great starter bike. It has enough power to be fun without having too much power to get you into trouble. It’s comfortable to sit upright to learn, and the controls are pretty intuitive.
I would say it's not ideal for total beginners. Someone just starting out may find the sporty ergonomics and relatively powerful engine for its class a little bit much. Maybe look at something like the Platina or Discover first.
It depends on the rider. If you’re a cautious learner who can resist the urge to show off, the NS125 might work. If you’re the type to push limits, though, maybe start with something tamer.
I was on an NS125 and I loved it! It taught me good throttle control, and helped me develop proper cornering techniques. If you just respect the bike, you’ll be fine.
I think it's honestly overkill for a first bike. Can’t you save some cash and learn on a used commuter? After you’ve gotten some experience under your belt, you can always upgrade to the NS125.
The NS125 is a nice middle ground. It’s not boring like basic commuters, but it’s not intimidating like bigger bikes. A great way to build confidence whilst still having some fun.
If you take a proper riding course first, I would recommend it. If you know what you're doing, the NS125 has enough performance to get you out of trouble; but if you don't, you could get into trouble.
