The build quality of Chetak 3201 is comparable to its competitors.
As premium electric scooter, Bajaj Chetak 3201 has been marketed with good quality materials and construction. There have, however, reports coming from buyers and reviewers about the actual quality of the build. There's some praise for solid feel and details, and some have reported panel gaps, paint quality and squeaky plastics issues. For the same price, the comparisons are often drawn to competitors like the Ather 450X and TVS iQube. The long life of the Chetak’s components is also debated, especially in hostile weather and on India’s rough roads. The after sales service and spare parts availability are also discussed, and can make a big difference to the ownership experience. Retro inspired design makes for some users to argue that it compromises practicality, while others say it provides the scooter with charm and durability.
I have had my Chetak for a year and it is much more solid than my friend’s Ather. It makes a big difference that the metal body.
It’s okay build quality, for the price. I have some rattles going on and the paint chips off easily.
It's a mixed bag. It is overall a premium feel, with some cheap plastic bits to bring it down. Better than most petrol scooters still.
I don’t think people have been kind enough to the Chetak. Unlike some of the plasticky competitors, it’s built to last. How well the old Chetaks are standing up is something to see.
Regarding build quality, it’s good, but the design compromises some practicalities. The underseat storage is incredibly small compared to other scooters in this range.
During monsoons, I’ve had water seepage problems. That's pretty disappointing for a "premium" scooter. The TVS iQube feels more weather proof.
The strongest point of the Chetak's build quality. It seems like it can take a beating, and that’s important on our roads. I just wish the service network was better.
