Absolutely! Such a CNG version could have been a game changer. In times of rising fuel costs, a CNG Stile would have been perfect for taxi fleets and commercial use.

I disagree. The main problem with the Stile was not the lack of a CNG option but the car’s unconventional design. It might not have even succeeded even with CNG.

Vibhu on 29 December 2024 05:14
It's hard to say. Had CNG been of any help, the Stile would still have found it difficult to stand out in the crowd, as it was competing with established players like Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Toyota Innova.

I believe it was a missed opportunity. For commercial use, CNG vehicles are very popular in metros. That was a market that Ashok Leyland could have capitalized on.

Abhay on 03 January 2025 14:36
Maybe, but timing is everything. In 2013, the CNG infrastructure was not as developed as they are now. That may not have changed much back then.

It was already on the high side of the pricing of the Stile. It would have been even more expensive as a CNG variant and therefore less appealing.

Sucheta on 11 January 2025 08:25
I think that it could have worked if marketed well. The CNG Stile could have been a good bet for Ashok Leyland to leverage its strong presence in the commercial vehicle sector.

Nevermind that the Stile was based on the Evalia, which also failed. The CNG option may not alone have saved it.

Shinde on 17 January 2025 15:10
They should ensure that it is a rugged, reliable workhorse. Further Add: GPS tracker and fleet management system to commercial users.

Anju on 21 January 2025 15:55
Would be electrification I’d say they need to go all in. An electric Stile with a decent range can be a game changer for intra city logistics or taxi service operations.

How about a modular interior? It would be unique in the segment for something that can be easily converted from passenger to cargo configuration.

Kuldeep on 30 January 2025 08:05
Before anything else, they need to get their basics right – a better build quality, a reworked engine, and a reduction in NVH levels. Then combine with modern tech such as a huge touchscreen and connected car features.

Considering that Ashok Leyland specializes in commercial vehicles, they could be a USP for them to extend the warranty period and lower the maintenance cost. That would be attractive for fleet operators.

Vikas on 30 January 2025 17:35
I would say they should put it in the position of a mini-ambulance or mobile clinic. Add the required medical equipment mounts and power outlets. It may be great for rural healthcare.

Abhay on 30 January 2025 06:59
Can we make it into a mobile office? Add built in 4G hotspot, foldable tables and power outlets. Perfect for on-the-go professionals.
