The Altius Scimitar 670 Diesel might be the dark horse of Indian motorcycle industry.
Bigwigs like Royal Enfield, Bajaj and Hero are India’s biggest names, but overseas names KTM and Triumph are also making inroads. In a crowded field, the Altius Scimitar 670 Diesel is a special offering. It is unlike anything else on the market, with a diesel engine, multi fuel capability and rugged design. But is different always better? Think about how difficult it would be to crack into the traditional motorcycle industry, the markets there might be for a bike like this, and the future of diesel power in a world that’s going green. The Scimitar could carve a big market share, or it could remain a curiosity. Can it inspire future bike designs in India? And most importantly, could a relative newcomer like Altius upset the industry with this nontraditional approach?

You’re all underestimating the power of being different. The Scimitar is one of a kind in a market of similar bikes. It could be a success with that alone, if they market it correctly.

The Scimitar is cool, I just don't see it as a dark horse. It wasn't as much of a general tool for a general market. Some will like it, but it won't change the world of the industry.

It's too soon to tell. First let’s see how it does in real world. If it is what it promises to be, it could be a gamechanger.

I believe it has potential, but Altius has to play their cards right. Team up with larger dealers, land some high profile endorsements and really promote the bike's USP. If it could be, it would be a game changer.

Dark horse? More like a white elephant. Diesel is on its way out and this bike will be obsolete before it sees any real traction. Electric should have been the focus of Altius.

You're both wrong. But its real value is in pushing innovation. It may not sell in huge numbers, but it may inspire other manufacturers to play with alternative fuels and rugged designs.

No way. It is too niche to have a real impact. It's a cool bike, but it'll never go toe to toe with the big boys in terms of sales or influence.

Definitely a dark horse! Its unique features could be the draw card for a loyal fan base amongst adventure riders and rural users. It won’t rule the world, but it could corner a nice market slice.
