Some Skoda Kylaq buyers report third-party PDI refusals: what to ask before payment?
Recent Kylaq buyer posts in India describe dealers declining an independent pre-delivery inspection or asking for payment first. Other owner accounts describe dealers allowing outside inspection with some limits. These are individual reports, not evidence of a nationwide Škoda policy or a legal entitlement. The practical question for a buyer with a booking is what the specific dealer will permit on the allocated car, and when money and registration become irreversible.
- Before full payment: Ask the dealer in writing when the exact allocated vehicle can be inspected, where it is stored, and whether an independent inspector may attend.
- Inspection scope: Ask whether the inspector can check visible condition, manufacture details, odometer and documents, and whether any diagnostic scan is restricted.
- Payment sequence: Confirm in writing when the vehicle is allocated, invoiced and registered, what deposit is refundable, and what happens if a material problem is found.
If a Kylaq dealer refuses outside PDI, would you inspect the car yourself, seek written access at another dealer, or reconsider the purchase? What exact terms were offered in your city? Describe the dealer response without treating one case as brand-wide policy.
