So is that lack of features what makes the Bajaj Boxer BM150 more interesting?

The stripped down, no frills approach to the design of the Bajaj Boxer BM150 is well known. In a market where entry level bikes are now rolling out with features like digital displays, LED lights and smartphone connectivity, the Boxer is a throwback to a simpler time. The lack of modern amenities has been causing debate among riders. It's argued that certain simple electronics and fancy gadgets are absent in the bike, hence making it more reliable and easier to repair, in case you cannot get to specialized repair shops. But others argue that such simplicity is a disadvantage in today’s tech savvy world where riders will expect features even in the budget models. It’s a question of whether the Boxer’s basic nature is a conscious design choice that adds to its appeal to a particular segment of riders, or if it’s a cost cutting measure that makes the bike feel dated. In this post, we’ll take a look at different opinions about whether the Boxer BM150’s minimalist approach is a strength or a weakness in today’s motorcycle market.

Even for a budget bike, it’s too basic. That way they could add a few modern things without making it too expensive or unreliable.

For those who commute daily the simplicity is a gift. No expensive electronic failures, or complicated repairs to worry about.

It’s fine that they don’t have features, but they could at least update the styling. Compared to other bikes in its class, it looks ancient.

I believe this is perfect for new riders. There are no complicated controls to figure out or displays to learn, just focus on learning to ride.

It's a double-edged sword. It’s great for reliability and easy maintenance but you do give up some convenient features.

This feels like riding a bike from the 90s, no way. At the very least, a digital speedometer should be standard today.

Absolutely! It’s the simplicity that’s the biggest selling point. No unneeded gadgets to break or take away you from the pure riding expertise.
