So how does the Aprilia SR 160 Race stack up against performance oriented motorcycles in the same price range?

At a price point, the SR 160 Race is competing with other premium scooters and even entry level performance motorcycles. So how does Aprilia stack up against other bikes like TVS Apache RTR 160 4V or the Yamaha R15 for the young riders who are looking for a fun ride? Think of things like acceleration, top speed, handling in the corners, and overall riding experience. Is the convenience of a scooter worth the performance trade that you give up compared to a proper motorcycle? Or is the SR 160 Race a special combination of sportiness and practicality that makes it a sensible alternative to regular bikes? For buyers stuck in the middle of a scooter’s convenience and a motorcycle’s performance, this comparison is particularly relevant.

The CVT makes the SR 160 feel faster than it is. On paper bikes might be quicker, but the Aprilia's instant acceleration just feels more exciting.

I went from the Apache to the SR 160 and I don't regret it. It's almost as fast, but so much easier to use every day. Best of both worlds.

It's apples and oranges. As for the SR 160, it’s a different riding experience from the norm of scooters and bikes. See what works best for you and try both.

In fact, the SR 160 is better for city use. Less traffic to filter through and no gear changes to worry about. Bikes pull ahead only on highways.

Bikes are more fun, period. The SR 160 is sporty for a scooter, but it's no match for the engagement of a proper manual transmission and bigger wheels.

Surprisingly, the SR 160 performs quite close to real world. It's quicker off the line than most 150 to 160 cc bikes and can hang in the twisties.

No comparison. The R15 will smoke the SR 160 in performance, a proper bike. If you really need the convenience of a scooter, get the Aprilia.
