What to ask for at service

Compared with a verbal service-counter answer, a written appointment and job card make the bike’s routine use easier to plan. Ask whether the check can be done at the scheduled visit, whether extra workshop time is needed, and how completion will appear in the service history. If the centre defers it, request the next proposed date and reason in writing. This is a process question for that particular bike and centre; a community report cannot establish what every workshop will do.

An overlooked running-cost question is whether the estimate separates the inspection from any adjustment. The manual schedules an inspection and adjustment checkpoint, but it does not establish that every motorcycle will need adjustment or a particular repair bill. A clear quotation can show inspection labour, any extra work and parts as separate lines. If the workshop proposes skipping the check, a written explanation matters more than an informal assurance. That makes later invoices easier to compare and gives the owner a useful record if a warranty question arises.
