On long highway rides, how does the FZS V3 Dark Knight Edition’s fuel efficiency hold up?
While the Yamaha FZS V3 Dark Knight Edition is known to be fuel efficient in city riding, there is much debate about its performance when riding on long highway stretches. When you are on an open road, like aerodynamics, engine tuning and gear ratios also play an important role in fuel consumption. Bike riders often question if the bike's mileage figures claimed are even possible when traveling at higher speeds over long stretches of highway. Others say the bike's comfort oriented design might even enhance efficiency on long rides, while still others think that the relatively small engine has to work harder on the highway, and that could eat into the fuel economy. FZS V3 owners are also divided on the impact of accessories such as windscreens or luggage on fuel efficiency while highway cruising.
I was blown away by its efficiency, I did a 500km trip. Even at 80-90 kmph speeds, it averaged around 45 kmpl. A highway star is The Dark Knight!
