Now that Honda has discontinued the XBlade, why did it do so, and will it return?

Honda discontinuing the XBlade has ruffled the feathers of the motorcycle enthusiasts lately. And this decision has left many to wonder why they made this decision given the bike’s unique place in Honda’s lineup. Was Honda right to pull it, or is it a result of poor sales, and are they going to remove it for a new model? Some are also speculating a comeback with an updated or a completely redesigned version. So let’s take a look at why it may have been discontinued and the chances of ever seeing another XBlade or its successor.

Apparently low sales were the reason. People usually went for one of those or both instead. The XBlade was stuck in between the Unicorn and the Hornet.

And it's probably making way for a new model. It seems Honda is working on something to better compete with the likes of the Apache RTR 160 4V.

I believe that discontinuing it was a mistake. Honda was known for having a unique design in the lineup, and the XBlade was no different. It should come back with some new updates.

Good riddance, I say. Honda's lineup didn't need an unnecessary model. That segment is a much better offering with the SP160.

They’ll definitely bring it back, but with a bigger engine. Does the XBlade name have any brand value? Of course, Honda won't let that go to waste.

Emissions regulations are all it's about. Maybe they just stopped it because it wasn't cost-effective to update it to meet the latest norms.

I wouldn't be shocked if it came back as an electric model. Honda has been trying to push into the EV space, and the XBlade's futuristic design is something that would suit an electric powertrain.

However, the discontinuation is temporary. If they are, they are most likely retooling the production line for a revamped model. Let's give it a year, and we'll see a new XBlade.

They should never have discontinued it. One of the very few bikes in its segment that came with a digital console and LED headlight as standard was the XBlade. Hope they bring it back soon.

The business sense behind Honda’s decision is sound. Why do we have multiple models in the same segment competing with each other? It’s better to focus on their best sellers.
